Le Cambiate Children’s Chorus (leCambiate) is a novel community-based organization whose mission is to assemble children of LGBT families in a safe and creative venue to advance musical and choral excellence, increase the visibility of children within the LGBT community, and facilitate community building among LGBT families.

Our Background and History 
leCambiate is Italian for “The Changed Ones.”  The inspiration behind its formation in 2007 was the growing number of families in the Bay Area that are headed by LGBT parents.  While there are several organizations that provide support to these families (Our Family Coalition, Children of Lesbian and Gays Everywhere, etc.) and other organizations that serve the needs of youth who are LGBT themselves, there are few or no organizations in San Francisco that offer a structured educational, artistic, and social experience specifically for children of LGBT-headed families.  Bob Ghiorzi was inspired to fill this overlooked niche with his 25 years of experience as a Bay Area children’s choral director.
